Why do you practice?
I practice Bikram Yoga because of how good I feel after a class. It keeps away aches and pains and gives you a 90 minute vacation from everything!
Where did your yoga practice begin?
My yoga practice began in 2007 at Bikram Yoga Glastonbury. After many years of doing the gym routine, I needed a change. My cousin suggested we try a heated yoga class, I was up for it! I was amazed at how challenging it was and why a 74-year-old was kicking my butt at yoga. After class, I felt energized and was surprised by that considering how much I struggled. A short 3 months later I was headed to Bikram Yoga Teacher Training.
What can a student expect from your class?
A student taking can expect a consistent, energized, compassionate class. They will be encouraged to try the right way to the best of their ability and will get as much attention they need to get there.
Why are you a yoga instructor?
I went to teacher training to learn about this yoga and advance my practice with the intention of possibly teaching one or two classes per week. I never dreamed of doing this full time. Being a yoga teacher has been amazing, I love being able to witness the transformational experience this yoga brings to people every day!
What do you love about Hartford Sweat?
Hartford Sweat is a community like no other. With Natasha’s infectious positivity it’s hard not to feel like your part of the team!
Your favorite yoga posture and why?
There are so many! An instructor at my training once said, “If you change your mind you change the posture”. I have taken this to heart and find whatever posture I am struggling with becomes my new favorite.
